[Pace Multiplier]: A constant used to multiply a final time by to determine the average (par) pace for a particular final time.
The Pace of the Race Velocity Multipliers answer these important questions:
· What is the horse’s pace ability?
· What was the race’s pace shape?
· Was the race a key pace race (Fast 5+)?
· How was the speed figure earned?
· Was the horse’s running style helped or hindered?

I don’t recommend books very often but there’s one you just have to have to be a complete player, I think. It’s called The Handicapper’s Condition Book by James Quinn. If you have it then read it again and again. Keep it close by. If you don’t have it then buy it. I think it comes down to this: Find horses that fit the eligibility conditions of the race and make sure those horses will be comfortable with the pace match-up - that's where PaceAppraiser comes in. It’s called class and pace – the best combo, period. You’ll play fewer races. You’ll make more money. That’s been my experience. Try it.
